Linda Read, RN, BSN

Public Health offers home care services to any resident in Cerro Gordo County, no matter what the age or income level of the client. Many people do not realize that Public Health is available to all people. Oftentimes, they think we only serve people with low incomes, which is not always the case.

My name is Linda Read. My education includes an associates degree in Nursing from North Iowa Area Community College and a bachelor's degree in Science of Nursing from the University of Iowa. I have been a Public Health nurse since 1987 and Service Manager of Family and Community Health since 1992.

At Public Health, we have 7 registered Nurses who provide skilled home nursing care for people who have an illness or have been in the hospital. Our nurses work with your physician to give you the best care possible - right in your own home, where you feel comfortable. Public Health nurses help you return to your independent lifestyle. Public Health nursing services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

At Public Health, we also have a staff of 12 trained Home Care Aides who are available to assist you with a variety of needs. They offer personal care services such as bathing, skin & hair care, foot care. Home care aides can also assist with budgeting, teaching parenting skills to new parents, meal planning & preparation, grocery shopping, household chores such as vacuuming and dusting, laundry, making the beds and washing dishes.
