Postpartum Visits
Postpartum home visits are provided by registered nurses under a contract with North Iowa Community Action and other providers. The visit provides educational material for the early postpartum period and education on infant care. Referrals are made to other community agencies when appropriate.

Prenatal Nurturing
Registered nurses provide parenting education through the Bavolek Nurturing Program. This program is an eight-session curriculum delivered in the family home. Education about physical, social, environmental, and emotional changes during pregnancy is delivered. Education of developmental stages, appropriate parent-child interaction, and methods of discipline are discussed with the parents. Community referrals are made when appropriate.
