MMR - Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccines

Measles
Measles is a highly contagious disease caused by a virus. Symptoms may include a rash, high fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes.

Mumps
Mumps is a disease of the lymph nodes caused by a virus. Symptoms may include fever, headache, muscle aches, and swelling of the lymph nodes close to the jaw.

Rubella                                 
Rubella is a respiratory disease caused by a virus. Symptoms may include rash and a fever for two to three days. If a woman gets rubella while she's pregnant, she could have a miscarriage or her baby may be born with serious birth defects.

Your child may be eligible for free vaccine. If you are not sure if your child is covered under the Vaccine for Children program, or you would like to make an appointment, call the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health at (641) 421-9321.
