Immunizations
Public
Health officials in Iowa recommend the childhood
immunization schedule. Some physicians may vary this schedule
to meet your child's needs. Read more to learn exactly what these
vaccines protect your children
from.
DTaP: (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis)
Hepatitis
A: Two (2) doses of the vaccine, given at least six (6) months
apart are needed for lasting protection.
Hepatitis
B: Full immunization requires three (3) doses of vaccine over
a six (6)-month period. Usually the first two doses are given
one (1) month apart, and the third dose, five (5) months after
the second.
Hib:
( Haemophilus
Influenzae Type B)
HPV (females ages 9-26 only)
Influenza vaccine (when available): Recommend annual immunization.
IPV:
(Polio)
Meningococcal vaccine (Meningitis)
MMR:
(Measles, Mumps, Rubella).
Prevnar
(Pneumococcal) (PCV-7)
Rotavirus
Td
(tetanus)
Tdap:
Combination tetanus booster and pertussis vaccine.
Varicella (Chickenpox)
