Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning

Who We Are:
The Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning is an organization that promotes childhood lead poisoning prevention initiatives. This Coalition works in conjunction with the Lead Free Kids program housed at Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. The Coalition was originally founded in 1994 at the inception of local childhood lead poisoning prevention programs. Although it has changed boundaries multiple times throughout its span, the Coalition is made up of community members in Cerro Gordo, Hancock and Worth Counties in North Iowa. Agencies represented include, but are not limited to: local public health departments, North Iowa Community Action Organization, Mason City Housing Authority, local medical staff and parents.
Mission:
The Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning is committed to the prevention and eradication of childhood lead poisoning through creation of resources, support of local programming and promotion.
Vision:
The Coalition is committed to eradicate childhood lead poisoning through education and appropriate testing of every child so that area children will be better able to learn, grow and contribute positively to society.
Details:
The Coalition meets once per quarter (every 3-4 months) for approximately one hour at the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. If you are interested in joining the Coalition, contact Kara at 641-421-9339.
