If you eat in environments in which smoking is allowed, you will potentially inhale over 4,000 chemicals such as benzene, formaldehyde and arsenic, all found in tobacco smoke. Second-hand smoke may cause red and itchy eyes, coughing, wheezing, sore throat, headaches, asthma attacks, and lung cancer. Children exposed to second-hand smoke are at greatest risk as their bodies are still developing. Sitting in the non-smoking section of a restaurant that allows smoking in an unenclosed area will not protect you from all the harmful effects of tobacco smoke.
To help those looking for smoke-free environments in which to eat in Cerro Gordo county, this list of restaurants has been compiled. Included in this list are establishments which do not allow smoking and those with separately enclosed and ventilated smoking & non-smoking sections. Information on the following pages has been provided by the restaurants listed. As changes may have occurred since publication of this dining guide, it is recommended to contact the restaurant to verify their most current smoking policies.
